Change your display name

You can choose which name your teammates use to @mention you in Slack: either your full name or a display name, e.g. just your first name or a nickname.

Here’s what each option looks like in a message:

Full name fullname.pngYou must include a full name in your profile. Unless you’ve updated your profile, we use the full name you gave us when you created your account.

Display name display.pngDisplay names are optional and can contain spaces, non-English characters and capitalisation.

Set your display name

If you don’t fill in the display name field in your profile, you will see your full name whenever people @mention you in Slack.
