Manage members on Enterprise Grid

The Admin Dashboard allows you to manage the members of your ever-evolving organization from one central place. 

Use the Admin Dashboard to:

  • View and edit members’ profiles
  • Change members' roles and permissions at the org-level
  • Deactivate members and remove access to workspaces 
  • Send SSO rebinding emails 

 

View and edit profiles

Org Owners and Admins can edit the profile info for any member in their Enterprise Grid org:

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. From the menu, click Administration, then Organization Settings.
  3. Under  Organization, click Members.
  4. Search for a member, then click their name to view their profile.
  5. Click Edit Profile in the top right and make your changes.
  6. Click Save Changes.


Change a member’s role

Org Owners and Admins can promote other members to admin roles at either the org or workspace level.

Org level

Workspace level

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. From the menu, click Administration, then Organization Settings.
  3. Under  Organization, click Members.
  4. Search for a member, then click their name to view their profile.
  5. Click the  three dots icon. Choose either Make Org Owner or Make an Org Admin.

  3. Under  Organization, click Workspaces.
  4. Click on a workspace name. 
  5. Select Members.
  6. Next to a member's name, click the  three dots icon. Choose Make a Workspace Admin or Make a Workspace Owner.

Deactivate a member’s account

Deactivating a member’s account will permanently log them out of all workspaces the member has access to. You can remove a member from your entire organization or from select workspaces:

Remove from org

Remove from workspace(s)

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. From the menu, click Administration, then Organization Settings.
  3. Under  Organization, click Members
  4. Search for the member(s) you’d like to deactivate and click the  three dots icon to the right of their name.
  5. Select Disable.   
  6. Click Yes, Deactivate This Account to confirm.

  2. From the menu, click Administration, then Organization Settings.
  3. Under  Organization, click Members
  4. Search for the member you’d like to remove and click the  three dots icon to the right of their name.
  5. Select Manage Workspaces.
  6. Hover over the workspace and click Remove from workspace.

Note: If you remove a member from a workspace, they'll no longer have access to it but they'll remain active in your Org.

 

Send an SSO rebind email

You can send SSO rebinding emails when a member's session ends:

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. From the menu, click Administration, then Organization Settings.
  3. Visit the  Organization page of the Admin Dashboard.
  4. Click Members, then search for the member you’d like to send an SSO rebinding email to.
  5. Click on the member's name to open their profile.
  6. Click the  three dots icon, then select Send SSO Rebind Email.


The member will receive an email from Slack to connect their SSO account to your Slack Enterprise Grid. They’ll need to click Authenticate your account to begin the binding process.

  • Available on the Enterprise Grid plan
