Slack is experiencing some connectivity issues — please stand by. Check Status
You can change how other members’ names are displayed in your Slack app. This setting is for your eyes only — every member of your workspace can choose their own preference. 👀
There are two preferences to choose from: show display names in conversations and full names everywhere else (the way names are displayed in the workspace directory, for example) or always show display names.
Set your preference
From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
Select the Messages & Media tab.
Under Names, choose how you’d like to see members’ names.
Swipe left to open the right sidebar.
Tap the toggle on next to Display Full Names to show full names.
We're sorry, but it's not currently possible to change this preference on Android. Stay tuned for updates!
We're sorry, it's not possible to change this preference on a Windows Phone.
