Use Bitbucket with Slack
Bitbucket offers free source code hosting for Git and Mercurial projects. If your team uses Bitbucket to manage work, you can integrate the Bitbucket app with your Slack workspace.
Here’s how this integration works: the app will post a message to your chosen Slack channel when code is committed to a Bitbucket repository.
Don't forget: You'll need a Bitbucket account to set up this integration.
Set up the Bitbucket app
Step 1 - Set up Slack for Bitbucket
Bitbucket page in the Slack App Directory. Click
Install or Add Configuration. Choose a channel where Bitbucket alerts will be posted.
Add Bitbucket Integration.
Step 2 - Set up Bitbucket for Slack
From Bitbucket, open your repository and click
Settings in the left navigation. Under
Workflow, click Webhooks, then select the Add webhook button. Give your webhook a unique name and paste your
webhook URL (you’ll find this under Webhook URL on the Slack App Directory page). Click Save.
Step 4 - Save your Bitbucket configuration
Return to your
Bitbucket integration configuration to add an optional description or a custom name or icon for the app. Click
Save Integration to complete setup.
