Mobile notifications

Need to stay in sync when you're on the move? Get the Slack app for your Android, iOS, or Windows Phone device. 🏃🏽💨

How mobile notifications work

  • Mobile notifications stay silent if you're actively working on the Slack desktop app.
  • Mobile notifications will begin as soon as the Slack desktop app is closed.
  • You'll only get notifications about activity in the channels you've joined.

Note: Download the Slack app for your smartphone or tablet, and sign in to your workspace before you begin.

Set up mobile notifications

You can set up mobile notifications from any device. Here are the options you have to choose from:

  • All new messages: You'll be notified about every new message in Slack. We recommend this option for small teams.
  • Direct messages, mentions, and keywords: You'll be notified when you receive a direct message, or when someone mentions you or any of your keywords
  • Nothing: You won't receive any notifications.
