Email notifications

In addition to sending you push notifications for activity that occurs while you're not using the app, Slack can send emails to let you know of any mentions and direct messages (DMs) you missed while you were away.

Note: An email notification will not be triggered if you are mentioned in a group DM.

Adjust your email notification settings

  1. Visit the Notifications page: my.slack.com/account/notifications
  2. Under Additional Settings, expand the Email Preferences section.
  3. Select an option to receive emails about missed messages Once every 15 minutes, Once an hour at most, or Never.

If you choose to receive email updates, Slack will send notifications to the inbox associated with your Slack account.

To update your email address, go to my.slack.com/account/settings and expand the Email Address section.

Note: For help troubleshooting email notifications, visit Trouble receiving emails from Slack on our Help Center.
