Manage referrer information

Some websites and services track information about where visitors to their site are coming (or being referred) from. This means when someone on your workspace clicks on a link that has been shared within Slack, their visit may be tracked and could potentially include your workspace's URL.

Slack hides your workspace's URL from external sites' logs by default. When members click on an external link in Slack they will be sent through a redirect that removes your workspace's information. You won't notice a thing — it all happens behind the scenes!

Hide your workspace's URL from external sites’ logs:

  1. Click your workspace name in the top left to open the menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Scroll to Hide your workspace URL from external sites’ logs.
  4. Click Expand, then uncheck the box next to Hide your workspace URL from external sites’ logs.
  5. Click Save.
