Manage referrer information

Some websites and services track information about where site visitors are coming (or being referred) from. This means when a member clicks a link that has been shared within Slack, their visit to that external site may be tracked and could potentially include your workspace or org's URL.

For this reason, Slack hides your workspace and org's URL from external sites' logs by default. When members click on an external link in Slack they will be sent through a redirect that removes your workspace's information. You won't notice a thing — it all happens behind the scenes!

Should you ever need to disable this redirect — and therefore possibly share your Slack URL with external sites — Owners and Admins can follow the steps below.
