Connect Google Calendar to Slack

With the Google Calendar app, you can start receiving reminders and updates for your calendar events directly in Slack.

Notifications for calendar events will appear when and where you want them. Team members in the same channel can easily click or expand reminders for more options and information.

Step 1: Install the Google Calendar app

First, choose the Google Account you’d like to connect to Slack — you can even add multiple accounts to connect all your calendars.

  1. Visit the Google Calendar app page.
  2. Next to the team name, click Install.
  3. Click Authorize a Google Account.
  4. On the Google authentication screen, click Accept.

Once you’ve connected your Google Account, continue to step 2.

Step 2: Connect a calendar to Slack

  1. Select the calendar you’d like Slack to post updates from.
  2. Choose a channel or DM where you’d like the updates to appear. If you prefer only to send these to yourself, choose Privately to you via @slackbot from the list.
  3. Next, you can customize the kind of notifications you’d like to receive: reminders when an event is scheduled to start, updates made to calendar events, and/or daily or weekly summaries for upcoming events.
  4. When you're done, click Save Integration.
  5. On the next page, you can choose to Go back and edit, or click I'm done.

Success! ✨ Your calendar reminders will now begin appearing in Slack. You can adjust the settings at any time by visiting the Google Calendar app page.

To add more calendar notifications, just repeat the steps above!
