With the Google Calendar app, you can receive event reminders and updates right within in Slack.
In Slack, notifications for calendar events can appear when and where you want them. When posted to a channel, you and your teammates can easily click or expand a reminder for more options and information.
Step 1: Install the Google Calendar app
First, you’ll need to install the Google Calendar app and choose the Google Account you’d like to connect to Slack — you can even add multiple accounts if you’d like to connect all your calendars. Here’s how to install the app:
On the Google authentication screen, click Accept.
Once you’ve connected your Google Account, continue to step 2.
Step 2: Connect a calendar to Slack
Select the calendar you’d like Slack to post updates from.
Choose a channel or DM to post to. If you'd prefer only to send updates to yourself, choose Privately to you via @slackbot from the list.
Next, you can customize the kind of notifications you’d like to receive: reminders when an event is scheduled to start, updates made to calendar events, and/or daily or weekly summaries for a list of upcoming events.
When you're done, click Save Integration.
On the next page, you can choose to Go back and edit, or click I'm done.
Success! ✨ Your calendar reminders will now appear in Slack. You can adjust the settings at any time by visiting the Google Calendar app page.
To add more calendar notifications, just repeat the steps above!
