Change your display name
You can choose which name your teammates use to
@mention you in Slack: either your full name or a display name, like your first name only or a nickname. Here's what each option looks like in a message:
You must include a full name in your profile. Unless you've
updated your profile
, we use the full name you gave us when you created your account.
Display names are optional and can contain spaces, non-English characters, and capitalization.
Set your display name
If you don't fill in the display name field in your profile, you will see your full name when people @mention you in Slack.
Click your workspace name in the top-left to open the menu.
Select Profile & account . This will open your profile on the right side of your screen.
Click Edit Profile .
Under Display name , write in what you'd like people to refer to you as in Slack .
Click Save changes .
Swipe left to open the right sidebar.
Edit Profile Make your edits to your profile and tap the
close icon at top left to finish up!
Overflow menu at top right. Tap

Note: If your Workspace Owner has enabled single sign-on, members' ability to edit their personal information, including display names and email addresses, may be restricted.
