Delete files from Slack

When they're no longer needed, you can delete files from Slack.

  • Members and guests can delete files they've uploaded.
  • Workspace Owners and Admins can delete files from any public channel, or in a private channel they've joined.
  • Files are deleted individually, not in bulk.

Note: While there is no bulk delete option for files, we offer API methods to help you manage your workspace data.

Using the Free plan? If you're hitting a file storage limit, read more about limits on the Free plan. Note that it may take up to 48 hours for storage space to update once files are deleted.
