Status
Workspace Owners and Admins can delete files from any public channel, or in a private channel they've joined.
Files are deleted individually, not in bulk.
Note: While there is no bulk delete option for files, we offer API methods to help you manage your workspace data.
Using the Free plan? If you're hitting a file storage limit, read more about limits on the Free plan. Note that it may take up to 48 hours for storage space to update once files are deleted.
Delete a file you've added
Any member or guest can delete a file they've uploaded to Slack.

Click the More Items icon in the top right.
Select Your Files.
Locate and choose the file you'd like to delete.
Click the three dots icon and select Delete File from Slack.
To confirm, click Yes, delete this file.
Swipe from right to left and tap Your Files.
Choose the file you'd like to delete.
Tap the three dots icon in the bottom right.
Tap Delete File.
Tap Yes, Delete File to confirm.
Choose the file you’d like to delete.
Tap the Overflow menu in the top right.
Tap Delete.
Tap Delete again to confirm.
From a channel, locate the message with the file you'd like to delete.
Long press on the message.
Tap Delete.
Delete someone else's file
Workspace Owners and Admins can delete files from any public channel, but only in private channels they've joined.

Select All Files.
Locate and choose the file you'd like to delete.
Click the three dots icon and select Delete File from Slack.
To confirm, click Yes, delete this file.
Swipe from right to left and tap Your Files, then Everyone.
Choose the file you'd like to delete.
Tap the three dots icon in the bottom right.
Tap Delete File.
Tap Yes, Delete File to confirm.
Choose the file you’d like to delete.
Tap the Overflow menu in the top right.
Tap Delete.
Tap Delete again to confirm.
From a channel, locate the message with the file you'd like to delete.
Long press on the message.
Tap Delete.
Note: On paid plans, Workspace Owners may have selected custom message and file retention policies, which would automatically delete messages and files after a certain period of time.
