Change a team member's email address


Update an email address

If your team has single sign-on (SSO) enabled, you may need to check your team's preferences. Read on for more detail.

  1. Click your team name to open the Team Menu
  2. Select Manage team members.
  3. Find the member whose email address you'd like to change, and click on their email address. 
  4. Edit the email and click save. 👍🏼

Keep in mind: You will not be able to make changes on a team member's account with a higher permission role than you. 


When single sign-on is enabled

If your team is using single sign-on, be sure your settings allow team members to change their email address. If this is disabled, you won't be able to update email addresses for any members of your team.

Tip: Teams with SAML-based SSO can update a team member's email address from within the identity provider. It will be updated the next time the member signs in to Slack. 

Who can use this feature?
  • Team Owners and Admins can access this feature. 
  • Available to teams on the Standard and Plus plans.
