Turn off animated images and emoji
Emoji reactions and GIFs animate automatically in Slack. If you’d prefer to turn off animations, you can change your personal preference. Here's how:
Click your team name to open the Team Menu.
Select Preferences .
Click Accessibility .
Under Animation, uncheck the box next to Allow animated images and emoji .
Swipe right to left to open the right sidebar.
Tap Settings .
Tap Accessibility .
Tap the toggle next to Allow Animated Images.
Overflow menu at top right.
Tap Settings .
Next to Advanced , tap the toggle beside Animate images and emoji to off.
More actions icon at top right. Tap
Under Experimental , tap the toggle next to Animate gif images .
Tip: On desktop, you can collapse any image by clicking the down arrow next to the image title, or type the /collapse slash command to collapse all media in a channel.
