Automation apps for Slack

Want to be even more productive with Slack? Try incorporating third-party services like IFTTT and Zapier to automate tasks, reminders, and workflows.

IFTTT for Slack

IFTTT is a service that allows you to connect web applications together using the following statement: if this, then that. With the IFTTT app for Slack, use “if this, then that” recipes to get updates in Slack channels.

Tip: Before you connect IFTTT to Slack, make sure you first create an IFTTT account.

Zapier for Slack

Zapier automatically moves info between your web apps — using workflows called Zaps — so that you can stay focused on your most important work.

Using the Zapier app, you can integrate Slack with hundreds of other apps and automate Slack tasks. You can make your own Zaps or browse from popular Zaps for Slack. Here are a couple of examples:

  • Trigger new Slack messages for events that occur in other apps.
  • Send the contents of a Slack message to another app when it’s starred (this is great for creating tasks in Trello, Asana or Todoist).

Tip: Before you connect Zapier to Slack, make sure you first create a Zapier account.
