Manage shared channel settings and permissions on Enterprise Grid

From the Admin Dashboard, Org Owner and Admins can manage shared channels and set related permissions.


View a summary of shared channels

Org Owners and Admins can see a list of all shared channels and the external organizations they're shared with:

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration, then Organization settings from the menu to open the Admin Dashboard.
  3. Below Organization on the left, click External sharing.


Set shared channel permissions

By default, any Org Owner or Admin can create channels shared with other organizations. Org Owners and Admins can choose to limit these actions to specific roles or people.

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration, then Organization settings from the menu.
  3. From the Admin Dashboard, click Settings. 
  4. Select Channel Administration.
  5. Locate Who can share channels with external organizations? and select an option.


Manage in-bound invitations

Org Owners and Admins can choose whether or not their org can receive shared channel requests from external organizations.

  1. From your desktop, click your workspace name in the top left.
  2. Select Administration, then Organization settings from the menu.
  3. From the Admin Dashboard, click Settings.
  4. Select Channel Administration.
  5. Below In-bound shared channel invitations, check or uncheck the box.

  • Org Owner and Org Admins 
  • Available on the Enterprise Grid plan
